Thought about dating: She's hot and he's not

According to Julia Allison dating consultant and columnist of Time Out New York, “everywhere I see gorgeous women with only moderately attractive -- or even downright unattractive – men.” After reading the article I pondered the statement and found that it seems in fact true. As Allison was saying it is even showing up with celebrities. For example Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Tesse, Billy Joel and his wives are some perfect examples of the she’s hot he’s not.

Over the years I myself have even been asked or people have asked my mother, “She is so beautiful, why she is dating him, referring to my boyfriend.” While many people do not confront you because it is rude, that is the first thing people look at when they see a couples, is their looks. Looks is not everything and many people know that but still one can’t help but wonder.

At times though is seems as men have it easy in the dating department. Although one thing to think about, is that woman can do many different things to alter their appearance, while men cannot, or if they do are seen as strange. The important thing to keep in mind is that it isn’t all about the looks and maybe beautiful women want men that are only moderately attractive or are unattractive so they don’t need to ward off other women all the time?
